New Guidance Issued To Tackle Glyphosate Resistance

The UK Weed Resistance Action Group (WRAG) and Amenity Forum have published free guidance to help amenity professionals manage the risk of glyphosate resistance.
Launched at the Amenity Forum’s Annual Conference on 8 October, the document outlines practical measures to maintain herbicide effectiveness, including improving application efficacy, monitoring results and investigating weeds that survive treatment.
It also encourages the use of alternative control methods as part of an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach, helping practitioners select suitable strategies according to site conditions and weed challenges.
The guidance explains when resistance should be suspected, how surviving weeds should be managed and when resistance testing may be appropriate.
The document, Guidelines for managing glyphosate resistance risk in amenity weed control (UK), is available to download free from the Amenity Forum and WRAG here.
