Intermediate Racecourse Maintenance Course Announced

The Grounds Management Association (GMA) and the Racecourse Association are running an Intermediate Racecourse Maintenance Level 2 course at Newmarket Racecourse from 1–6 November 2026.

The five-day training programme will cover the technical knowledge required for professional racecourse maintenance, including drainage, construction profiles, nutrient analysis, grass species, pesticide use and health and safety.

The course will be delivered by GMA tutor Steve Prinn and British Horseracing Authority (BHA) course inspector Kevin Jones, with a focus on helping participants make informed decisions about maintenance practices and surface performance.
