Xtracto Brings Faster Pin And Post Removal

To the groundscare sector

A new professional pin and post removal tool is now available to groundscare, landscaping and amenity contractors across the UK and Europe, designed to make the removal of deeply embedded pins, stakes and posts quicker, safer and less labour-intensive.

Xtracto is a Canadian-manufactured extraction tool that uses a cordless impact wrench to generate up to 2.5 tonnes of pulling force. Weighing just 7kg, the portable unit can be used to remove a wide range of items from the ground, including timber and metal fence posts, road pins, drive rods, scaffold poles and stakes.

For landscaping and grounds maintenance teams, Xtracto is particularly suited to removing self-set saplings and small shrubs, as well as temporary fencing and other ground fixtures. The controlled pulling action can help reduce the need for heavy manual tools such as crowbars, sledgehammers and farm jacks, while minimising disturbance to the surrounding ground.

The tool is powered by professional cordless impact wrenches from Milwaukee, Makita or DeWalt, making it straightforward for contractors already operating battery-powered equipment to incorporate Xtracto into their existing toolkit.

Different interchangeable hooks are available to suit pins and posts from approximately 16mm through to 57mm, while a chain attachment provides additional flexibility for other extraction applications.

Xtracto is now available in the UK and Europe through its exclusive distributor, SPA Landscaping Ltd. The company has decades of experience in commercial grounds maintenance and equipment distribution, with the Xtracto range supported from its Sheffield headquarters.

The Xtracto team will be demonstrating the tool at two major industry events this autumn. Visitors can see live demonstrations at GroundsFest, 9–10 September, and APF Exhibition, 17–19 September, where the team will be available to discuss applications and demonstrate the extraction process.

For contractors regularly faced with stubborn pins, stakes, posts or unwanted growth that needs removing, Xtracto offers a practical alternative to traditional manual extraction methods.
