New Trimax FlailDek S4
Trimax has introduced the latest generation of its established FlailDek flail mower, with a range of updates designed to make day-to-day operation easier and more efficient.

The new Trimax FlailDek S4 builds on a proven platform with improvements focused on durability, reduced maintenance and efficient performance in demanding grounds maintenance applications.
Designed with day-to-day ownership in mind, the S4 features sealed-for-life roller bearings, eliminating the need for daily greasing and helping to reduce routine maintenance requirements. Re-designed link arms provide increased strength while also being designed to improve operator comfort.

A new double helical rotor is designed to deliver efficient cutting while requiring less horsepower and operating more quietly. The S4 also features a configurable gearbox mount with two pre-set positions, helping to improve alignment with different power units. A replaceable internal liner helps reduce noise while extending the working life of the mower.
These developments are aimed at helping professional operators maximise uptime and productivity, particularly when machines are working for extended periods in demanding conditions.
For Grasstex, which carries out urban and rural grass-cutting contracts across Surrey, Sussex and Kent, FlailDek machines can operate for six to seven hours a day across challenging terrain, including road verges.
“Reliability and efficiency are vital to Grasstex, and the Trimax FlailDek consistently helps us deliver both,” says Contract Manager Lukas Ozana. “It has improved our productivity by helping us cover ground quickly while maintaining a professional finish, particularly during the peak season.”

Alongside its focus on mowing performance, the S4 offers a range of options to provide additional versatility for grounds teams. Optional Y flails can provide a finer finish for certain applications, while scarifying knives, combined with a negative height-of-cut setting, enable the machine to tackle dethatching and scarifying work. A unique converter flap allows operators to switch between mowing and specialist mulching applications.
The FlailDek S4 is suited to applications including council and contractor grass maintenance, golf course roughs and surrounds, estates, parks, schools and sports fields.
The S4 has also been shortlisted in the Stood the Test of Time category at this year’s GroundsFest Awards, recognising the continued development of a proven design.
Backed by Trimax’s three-year warranty, the FlailDek S4 will be on display at GroundsFest on the Trimax stand, RB9, on 16–17 September.
