Comprehensive Learning Programme Announced

SALTEX 2026 has announced it will feature more than 30 hours of CPD-accredited education as part of its Learning LIVE programme, covering sports turf, sustainability, water management, technology and workforce development.
Taking place at the NEC Birmingham on 11-12 November, the programme will run across three stages, with sessions aimed at grounds managers, greenkeepers, local authorities, landscaping contractors and community sports clubs.
Topics include climate resilience, irrigation and drainage, integrated turf management, pitch performance and the management of artificial and hybrid surfaces. Speakers will include representatives from the Environment Agency, Anglian Water, STRI, the British Horseracing Authority and leading sporting venues.
The programme will also address practical challenges for grassroots clubs, including machinery funding, drainage improvements, equipment security and reducing weather-related match cancellations. Separate sessions will explore synthetic turf recycling, landscaping standards, apprenticeships and career development.
Geoff Webb, CEO of the Grounds Management Association, said the programme was designed to provide practical solutions to everyday industry challenges, with visitors able to take away ideas to improve their facilities and operations.
Marking the 80th edition of SALTEX, Learning LIVE is included free with visitor registration, alongside technical workshops, networking opportunities and other educational sessions.
