SURGE IN HYBRID PITCH INSTALLATIONS REPORTED

Sports surface specialist SIS Pitches has reported a 44% year-on-year rise in hybrid pitch installations, driven by strong demand from Premier League clubs.

The company says it stitched hybrid surfaces for half of the Premier League’s teams over the summer as they prepared for the current season. Clubs including Aston Villa, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest have all installed SISGrass Hybrid systems at stadiums or training grounds.

Among the high-profile projects completed was the new hybrid pitch at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium, which also features a SISAir AquaCycle aeration and water management system.

Beyond the top flight, SIS Pitches’ technology is also being adopted across the EFL and non-league football, with recent installations at Birmingham City, Wrexham, Derby County, Wycombe Wanderers, Stevenage, Mansfield, Colchester United, Swindon Town, Notts County, Stockport County and Hednesford Town.

To meet the rising global demand, the company has invested in 16 new hybrid stitching machines, enabling faster installations and greater flexibility for clubs managing tighter turnaround times between matches and events.

SIS Pitches CEO Ivo Lamot said, “Demand for our elite-level hybrid pitch technology has never been greater, not just among clubs in the Premier League but around the world. The rise of multi-use stadiums means clubs are looking for faster, more durable solutions – and our recent investments allow us to meet that challenge.”
