PREMIER LEAGUE AWARD GROUNDS TEAM OF THE SEASON

The hard work and excellence of Leicester City FC’s Grounds Team has been recognised with the honour of being named the Premier League’s Grounds Team of the Season for 2022/23.

A statement on Leicester's official website said, "The award recognises the pristine playing surfaces provided at King Power Stadium throughout the campaign for our Men’s and Women’s First Team sides, which is a testament to the dedication and around the clock care provided by the Football Club’s Grounds Staff."

John Ledwidge, head of sports turf and grounds told LCFC.com, “I am exceptionally proud of the team for winning Premier League Grounds Team of the Season. This is fantastic recognition of all the hard work the team at the stadium put into producing the playing surface at King Power Stadium all year round, along with the efforts from the wider team and matchday staff as well as the continued support of the Club.”

Premier League match delegates and referees award marks throughout the season based on the quality of the pitch, including factors such as usage and environmental conditions, with Leicester City coming out on top against some tough competition this season.

The club's official statement concluded, "From the meticulous preparation of the playing surface to the coordination of matchday operations, a collective effort from all staff involved has contributed to this recognition, with the industry-leading expertise continuing to enhance the overall matchday experience for players, fans, and officials."
