INAUGRAL SPFL PITCH AWARD PRESENTED

Rangers’ ground staff have been presented with the inaugural SPFL Pitch of the Season Award.

ProPitch, in partnership with the SPFL, delivered the first Pitch Support Programme this campaign to support and enhance pitch quality across Scotland. As part of that, assessments were carried out on pitches across the country with the Ibrox playing surface coming out on top.

Rangers say the recognition is testament to the outstanding dedication and professionalism of the team, who have delivered exceptional playing conditions at Ibrox throughout a season marked by unique challenges.

According to the Rangers website at the start of the campaign, the team had to contend with disruption caused by the ongoing works at Ibrox. That was followed by a testing winter period, yet the quality and consistency of the playing surface never wavered.

Rangers Chairman, Fraser Thornton, told their site, “This award is richly deserved and reflects the professionalism, expertise, and relentless commitment of our ground staff.

“With the added complication this year of the Copland Stand works, and the limited maintenance time at that end of the pitch, for it to have remained of the highest quality through the winter months right through to today is testament to their fabulous work.

“I pass on my warm congratulations to David Roxburgh and his team for this achievement.”

Dean Tingley, ProPitch business development manager added, “The ground staff at Rangers have done a fantastic job to achieve the inaugural pitch of the season award and is testimony to the hard work and dedication of all involved.”
