The Ground Management Association (GMA) has launched their 35 under 35 - a new initiative that they say intends to celebrate the brightest young professionals and volunteers in the grounds management industry.
Supported by ICL this free-to-enter programme will spotlight 35 outstanding individuals under the age of 35 who are making a real difference in the grounds management industry.
The GMA say entry is open to any professional or volunteer working in grounds management - including sports turf, parks, estates and green spaces, who are under 35 years of age on Friday 25 July 2025.
This includes those working directly on the ground as well as individuals supporting the industry in wider roles such as operations, education, research or supplier services.
Both self-nominations and peer nominations are welcome, say the Association, and entries are open now at thegma.org.uk/35under35. Before submitting a nomination, download the Entry Kit for information on eligibility and what makes a strong application.
A spokesperson for the Association, explained, "Entering the GMA’s 35 under 35 is a chance to be recognised for the difference you're making - whether that’s improving playing surfaces, applying more sustainable practices or supporting colleagues. It’s an opportunity to showcase your talent to a panel of industry experts and demonstrate what makes you stand out."
They continued, "If you're selected as one of the 35, by a panel of expert judges, you'll be featured in an industry-wide campaign that highlights your contribution to the rest of the industry. You'll also gain access to exclusive training modules from the GMA and ICL and be invited to dedicated sessions at SALTEX to learn and network."
Nominations are open until Friday 25 July 2025.
