1000th INSTALLATION COMPLETED

Specialist turf contractor Djuke has completed its 1000th Hydrowick golf green installation, reaching the milestone at Burford Golf Club in Oxfordshire.

The club, founded in 1936, had long contended with waterlogged clay push-up greens. Head greenkeeper Richard Hitchman said the Hydrowick system brought immediate improvements with minimal disruption. “The day after it went in, we could have had the greens back in play. Areas that were once the wettest became the driest,” he explained.

A phased programme saw the system rolled out across all 18 greens, with the final four completed in August this year. Richard added that the course has now virtually eliminated the need for temporary greens, even during last winter’s heavy rainfall.

The company says the Hydrowick system has now been installed on a wide range of turf surfaces across the UK, including golf greens, tees, fairways and amenity areas.
