EVENTS LAUNCHED TO BRING TURF PROFESSIONALS TOGETHER

The Grounds Management Association (GMA) is launching GMA Connect, a new programme of events that they say are designed to bring professional groundspeople together for hands-on learning and networking.

The Association says GMA Connect is all about bringing the grounds industry together regionally, providing a local hub for groundspeople to share knowledge and discover solutions.

Supported by headline sponsor Cramer, the inaugural events will be held in two locations in 2025 and will focus on the theme of 'Turf Management in the Current Climate', addressing the challenges and solutions for maintaining high-quality grounds in today’s ever-changing environment.

The new programme promises hands-on insights, including expert seminars and access to manufacturers such as Fleet Line Markers, GKB Machines and ISEKI UK & Ireland, with more to be announced.

Confirmed dates for GMA Connect 2025:

  • Tuesday 13 May 2025 - Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol
  • Wednesday 18 June 2025 - Durham County Cricket Club, Durham

The events will feature expert-led seminars, including guidance from Mark Hunt - a renowned weather expert and industry leader from Prodata Weather Systems, Alex Vickers - turf consultant at the GMA and their Pitch Advisory Service team.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to watch live demonstrations from industry suppliers and take part in practical workshops.

Sarah Hunter, head of events at the GMA, said, “GMA Connect will offer an invaluable opportunity for grounds professionals to share knowledge and discover solutions that will help them succeed in today’s dynamic environment. We look forward to welcoming industry professionals to these events and facilitating discussions that will shape the future of grounds management.”

Tickets for GMA Connect are free for GMA members, while non-members can attend for £15.
